The Medicine Buddha has powers in healing sufferings, both physical and mental sufferings. One can meditate in front of The Medicine Buddha to increase healing powers in oneself and others.

• In his right hand, he holds a myrobalan plant, which was used in ancient Ayurvedic medicine.

• In his left hand, he holds a medicine bowl containing three nectars. These three nectars eliminate the poisons of greed, hatred and ignorance.
